📜 Addressing the War in Israel

Shalom, Church Family,
This morning, as we gather in peace and safety, our brothers and sisters in Israel are entering Shabbat under the shadow of war — not only in Gaza but now with in war with Iran. Yet in bomb shelters across the land, you’ll still hear the singing of psalms, the lighting of candles, and the speaking of blessings.
This is not fear, this is faith.
Psalm 23:4 says:
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.”
And truly, He is with them. We see it in their courage. We hear it in their prayers. And today, we join those prayers—not in anxiety, but in joyful intercession, knowing that He who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4).
🙏 Why We Pray for Israel
The Lord commands it:
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May those who love you be secure.’” – Psalm 122:6
But this isn’t just about geography. This is about God’s covenant—a covenant He will fulfill, a people He will redeem, and a land from which Messiah will reign.
Paul writes in Romans 11:1:
“Has God rejected His people? By no means!”And again in verse 29:“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”
🌍 Why It Matters to Us
Church, we must not be indifferent. The day is quickly approaching when all nations will turn against Israel (Zechariah 12:3). The alignment of hostility we are witnessing is not just political—it is prophetic.
“Nation will rise against nation… Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” – Luke 21:10, 24
And yet, do not be afraid. These things must come to pass. Yeshua told us in Matthew 24 that wars and rumors of wars are the beginning of birth pains—not to crush us, but to awaken us.
⏳ What Should We Do?
Pray with Purpose
Not just for peace, but for the will of God to be done and for eyes to be opened to Yeshua, the true Messiah.
Romans 10:1 – “My heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.”
Live with Urgency
Ephesians 5:16 – “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Church, this is not the time to sleep. The return of our King is nearer now than when we first believed (Romans 13:11).
Rejoice in Tribulation
Habakkuk 3:17–18 – “Though the fig tree does not bud… yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.”
Even if the world shakes, our foundation stands firm. And the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
🔥 Final Word
Let us pray for Israel not as those who are afraid, but as watchmen on the wall (Isaiah 62:6), full of faith, joy, and holy expectation.
Let us prepare ourselves spiritually, not out of panic, but out of love for the appearing of our Lord (2 Timothy 4:8).
And let us say today as our brothers and sisters are saying in the bomb shelters of Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem:
“Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season.”
